Soccer Referee Training Offered

Helena needs more than 100 referees to handle all the Arsenal, Academy and REC games in the area. Referees are paid anywhere from $10 to $45 per game. There are classes scheduled for both returning referees who want to re-certify for 2011 and entry level classes for referees who want to officiate recreational youth games (know as a grade 9 recreational referee) and those who want to be able to officiate competitive games (referee grade 8). There will be 2 opportunities to become a grade 8 referee (March 8,10,12,13 and March 18,19,20.) and one opportunity to become a grade 9 referee (April 5,7,8.) The full referee class is 16 hours including 2-3 hours of on field training. There is a cost of $25 plus the $40 USSF registration fee. The grade 9 class is 8 hours long including 2 hours of on field work. It costs $15 plus the $40 USSF registration fee. Go to the following website to register for class. Existing referees (recreational and full referees) must attend a re-certification class each year. There will be 3 opportunities for full referees and one opportunity for recreational (grade 9) referees to re-certify. Re-cert #1 will be Feb 15,17. Re-cert #2 will be Feb 27. Re-cert #3 (last chance) will be March 26. Recreational referees (grade 9) will re-certify on April 6. All re-certifying referees must go online to www.ussoccer.info  to register and pay their USSF fees. The clinic fee will be collected at the classroom.

Classes both entry and re-certification require some pre-class online work. All classroom instruction will be held in the KTVH classroom on the Carroll College campus across from the Brewhouse restaurant. Enter in the West parking lot side door. All classes are limited to the first 20 to register.
